Having a go on the Noticing Tool
The Noticing Tool is free, it's open to anyone, and there's nothing to fill in before you start. Go to the Noticing Tool and press Have a go.
- You get one card.
- Look at it before anything else. Tap whatever catches your eye in the picture and say what it is. Three things at least. There are no wrong answers and nothing to look up.
- Then tell me what you think the card means, going only on what you've just seen.
- I put the traditional symbolism on the card next to yours, so you can see what you caught and what you walked past. Then you get the usual keywords.
Partway through I'll ask for your name and email, and over the next couple of weeks I'll send you a few things to help you keep going. You can stop hearing from me whenever you want.
Do one card, or keep going with another. There's no limit on it.
It's practice, not a reading. You're not telling anyone their future here. You're rehearsing the one move that makes reading work, which is looking before you reach for the words.
What the free one doesn't do. It won't keep any of it for you, so close the tab and it's gone. You get Rider-Waite-Smith every time as well.
Members get every card saved into Simply Tarot Journal, sitting on that card alongside their own notes on it, and can use photos of their own decks instead. There's more on that in Using the Noticing Tool.
Still stuck? Don't wrestle with it. Reply to any email from me, or get in touch, and a real person, me, will help you out.
