Using the Reading Recorder

The Reading Recorder is free and open to anyone. It's the same tool members use, with the handful of things that genuinely need an account left out. Go to the Reading Recorder and press Have a go.

It takes you through a screen at a time.

1. Date and deck. When you did the reading, and what you pulled it with.
2. Which spread are you using? Pick one of mine, or skip it and log the cards on their own.
3. Who was this for? Yourself, or how many other people were in it.
4. The cards. Add each one to its position, and say if it came out reversed.
5. Your reading, drawn out properly so you can see the whole layout.
6. Your reflections, card by card, then the prompts that come with the spread, then anywhere else you want to put notes.

Just before you write your notes I'll ask for your name and email. Until you do that there's no way to save, download or print the reading.

How you keep it. At the end there's Print it. That opens your reading on its own page, the layout drawn at the top and every card with your notes underneath, so you can print it or save it as a PDF. That's how you keep one on the free version, because nothing here saves to an account.

Why bother writing them down. A reading feels obvious while you're in it. Come back six weeks later and half of it reads differently, because you know how the thing turned out. That gap is where you actually learn.

What's in the members' one on top. Every reading saved and reopenable whenever you like, editing one after you've saved it, your own decks with your own photos of the cards, spreads you've built yourself and ones other members have shared, tagging another member into a reading, and reminders to come back to it.
