Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 September 2026

Welcome

I’m Gord. I run Tarot with Gord, and these terms cover everything I do here. Bookings, courses, the membership, digital downloads, the Circle, events, all of it.

I’ve written these in plain English. Where I’ve had to be precise, I’ve tried to explain why. If anything’s unclear, email me at admin@tarotwithgord.com and I’ll talk you through it.

By booking, buying, or signing up to anything I offer, you’re agreeing to what’s below.

What I Do

I offer one-to-one tarot readings, both in person and over Zoom. I run group tarot courses (Simply Tarot Course) on Zoom. I run Simply Tarot Circle, a weekly group reading on Sunday evenings on Zoom, available either as a £5 drop-in or as part of Simply Tarot Membership. I run the membership itself, which is a monthly or yearly subscription. I sell digital products through my website (workbooks, guides, reference material). And I take bookings for tarot reading at events and parties.

If you’ve booked something specific, the section that covers it is below.

Things That Apply To Everything

You need to be 18 or over to use anything I offer. I don’t read for under-18s, take them on courses, or accept their membership.

Every time on this site is shown in your own time zone. Your browser tells us which one you’re in, so there is nothing for you to convert. Sunday Circle is Sunday, 7 pm – 8:30 pm (UK Time).

The contract between us is in English. UK law (specifically England and Wales) applies to it.

I take payment through Stripe and PayPal. I don’t store your card details, the payment processors handle that.

Most communication happens by email. Booking confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, updates. If you need to talk to me, admin@tarotwithgord.com.

If you don’t get an email you were expecting (a confirmation, a Circle link, a download), check your spam folder first, then email me. Spam filters and undelivered emails are outside my control, but I’ll always resend if you ask.

I’m a sole trader. That means it’s just me. There isn’t a team behind me. I aim to respond to messages within two working days, sometimes faster, occasionally slower if something’s going on.

One-to-One Readings

Everything in this section covers one-to-one readings, whether they’re in person or on Zoom.

Booking notice: at least 24 hours before the session you want.

Rescheduling yourself: you can do this through your account up to 3 hours before your session. Your account handles the change automatically.

Cancellations: if you want to cancel and get a refund, email me at least 24 hours before your session. Less than 24 hours and the session counts as used.

Late arrivals: sessions start at the scheduled time. If you’re up to 15 minutes late, we’ll work with the time that’s left. More than 15 minutes and the session counts as missed, no refund.

Missing a session entirely: if you don’t show up and don’t tell me, the session counts as used. No refund, no rescheduling.

Recording the session: a recording is a £5 add-on you choose when you book. Audio for in-person readings, video for Zoom. It isn’t available on the 15-minute reading. If you’ve bought one and I can’t deliver it for a technical reason, I’ll refund the add-on.

At the start of every reading, I’ll go through what tarot is and isn’t, what I do and don’t do, and what the scope of your session looks like. You’ll have already seen most of this when you booked. If you want to opt out of any of it, that’s the moment.

Refunds for one-to-one sessions

I don’t typically offer refunds on readings once the session has happened. I might offer one in specific cases:

  • I cancelled or didn’t show up.
  • The session was cut short by a technical failure on my end.
  • I didn’t address the question you booked the reading for.
  • Something went wrong that’s clearly my fault.

If you want to ask about a refund, email me within 7 days of the session and tell me what happened. I’ll respond within 5 working days.

I won’t offer refunds for subjective reasons like “the reading didn’t resonate,” “it wasn’t what I hoped for,” or “the cards didn’t say what I wanted.” I also won’t offer refunds in exchange for changing or removing a review you’ve left.

Group Tarot Courses

These run live on Zoom, on Sundays, six weeks per level. If I ever run an in-person cohort it’ll have its own dates and its own terms.

Your place includes the full Simply Tarot Fundamentals reference and the workbooks that go with your level. They’re digital, they’re yours to keep, and they stay in your account.

Refund window: full refund if you cancel within 14 days of buying your place AND the course hasn’t started yet. Whichever happens first ends the window. So if you book a course that starts in 7 days, your refund window ends after 7 days.

If you miss a session for genuine reasons, I’ll do my best to help you catch up. There’s no automatic right to make-up sessions or recordings. Talk to me.

If I cancel a course (because not enough people have signed up, or because something has happened on my end), you get a full refund.

Simply Tarot Circle (£5 Drop-In Tickets)

Circle runs every Sunday, 7 pm – 8:30 pm (UK Time) on Zoom. You can book a single drop-in ticket for £5, or get unlimited Circle access as part of Simply Tarot Membership.

For drop-in tickets:

  • Cancellations: full refund if you email me at least 48 hours before.
  • Transferring your ticket to another Sunday: allowed if you email me at least 48 hours before.
  • No-shows: if you don’t turn up, you lose the ticket. No refund, no transfer.

If I cancel a Circle session, you get a full refund or a transfer to another Sunday, whichever you prefer.

Simply Tarot Membership

£15 per month or £150 per year, paid through Stripe.

What’s included:

  • Simply Tarot Circle every Sunday, 7 pm – 8:30 pm (UK Time).
  • A new Simply Tarot Unfiltered video each week.
  • Access to all spread workbooks I’ve released, plus any new ones I release while you’re a member.
  • The full Simply Tarot Fundamentals reference (over 500 pages).
  • Members-only Tarot Journal content on every card meaning page on my website.
  • 20% off any tarot reading you book with me.
  • Access to the Tarot with DisGord community on Discord.

How payment works

Monthly memberships renew every month on the date you joined. Annual memberships renew every year on the date you joined.

If your payment fails, Stripe will keep trying to take it across the next two weeks, and you’ll get an email notification each time it fails. If all attempts fail, your membership is suspended and you lose access to member areas and Discord. You can update your payment details at any time to restore your membership immediately.

If your account stays suspended for more than 30 days without payment, your membership ends. You can join again as a new member if you want to come back later.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time. Log into your account on my website, go to your membership settings, and click the cancel button. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

You’ll keep access to everything until then. After that, your access ends, your Discord role is removed, and your account download area is locked.

There’s no refund for the period you’ve already paid for. If you cancel a monthly membership in week 2, you keep access until the end of that month. If you cancel an annual membership in month 6, you keep access until month 12. The annual price is a saving on the monthly rate, and that saving is what you got at purchase regardless of when you cancel.

Digital content and your right to a refund

When you join Simply Tarot Membership, you get immediate access to several things:

  • Sunday Circle (live group readings on Zoom)
  • Simply Tarot Unfiltered videos
  • Members-only Tarot Journal content on every card meaning page on my site
  • Discord community
  • A discount code that gives you my full range of spread workbooks at no extra cost through my digital downloads page, both current ones and any I release while you’re a member
  • 20% off any tarot reading you book with me

Under UK consumer law, you’d normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract like this and get a refund. But because access to digital content (videos, member card pages, the discount code) is available to you straight away, that right ends the moment you use any of it.

By joining the membership, you agree that you understand this and that you’re happy to start receiving access to all of the above immediately.

Member content stays members-only

Everything inside the membership is for you and you only. That includes Circle recordings, Simply Tarot Unfiltered videos, the workbooks, Tarot Journal content on card pages, and Discord conversations.

You can:

  • Use any of it for your own practice and learning.
  • Print workbooks for your own use.
  • Share files with people in your immediate household for their own personal use.

You can’t:

  • Share, repost, sell, redistribute, or republish member content publicly.
  • Post screenshots or substantial quotes from Discord conversations outside Discord.
  • Use any of the content to teach paid courses or run paid services of your own.
  • Share your account login or download links.

If you break these rules, I’ll talk to you about it first. If it keeps happening, I can end your membership without a refund.

When your membership ends, here’s what changes:

  • You’ll lose access to things that stream online or sit behind member login. That includes Sunday Circle, Simply Tarot Unfiltered videos, members-only Tarot Journal content on card pages, and the Discord community.
  • Anything you’ve already downloaded onto your own device is yours to keep, under the same use restrictions above.
  • Anything you’ve already claimed with your member discount code stays in your account on my website. You can re-download those any time, the same as any other digital product you’ve bought from me.
  • Your member discount code stops working when your membership ends, so you won’t be able to claim any new workbooks I release for free after that point.

Your card photos

If you’re a member, you can photograph your own cards and keep them in your journal. Your photos are private to you. Nobody else sees them, member or not.

Photograph decks you own, for your own study. You’re responsible for what you upload and for whether you had the right to upload it.

When you talk about a card in Circle, let us know which deck you’re using.

If you publish a deck and you want photos of it taken down, email me at admin@tarotwithgord.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject and tell me which deck. I’ll reply within 2 working days and remove them.

Your journal and your photos of your own cards

Your membership includes the Tarot Journal. You can record readings in it, keep notes, and build up a library of photographs of your own cards.

Your photos stay yours. Uploading one doesn’t hand me any ownership of it. What I need is permission to hold it and show it back to you, so by uploading a photo you’re giving me a licence to store it on my site, make a smaller copy of it so your journal loads quickly, and display it to you inside your own journal and your own readings. That licence lasts as long as the photo is on my site, and it ends when you delete it or ask me to.

The copyright in what you upload is your responsibility. By uploading a photograph you’re confirming three things: that you own the deck, that you took the photograph yourself, and that you’ve got the right to upload it. I don’t check that and I’m not in a position to. Most tarot and oracle decks are still in copyright, and photographing a deck you own for your own private study sits in a very different place from publishing those images. This feature is built for the first one. If you’re not sure whether something is yours to upload, don’t upload it.

Name the deck when you show a card. Deck creators make their living from this work, and crediting them is the least any of us can do. Your journal records which deck you used and puts the name on the reading for you. When you show a card out loud, in Circle or anywhere else, say which deck it’s from.

I don’t publish your photos and I don’t show them to other members. They’re stored outside the public part of my site and only handed over to you when you’re signed in. If you share a reading you’ve recorded, whoever you share it with will see the cards in that reading, because that’s what you’ve chosen to share.

Don’t upload anything else. This is for photographs of cards. Please don’t upload photographs of people, anything you haven’t got the right to upload, or anything illegal.

How the uploads sit on my site. Members upload these photographs themselves. I don’t choose them, review them, edit them or look through them, and they aren’t published anywhere. My site stores them and shows them back to the member who uploaded them. Where I’m told that something shouldn’t be there, I take it down, and the section on reporting copyright material says how that works.

What you’re responsible for. If you upload something you didn’t have the right to upload, that’s on you rather than on me, and you agree to cover me for any claim, loss or cost that comes out of it.

When your membership ends. Your journal and your photos stay on your account, so if you come back they’re still there. If you’d rather they were gone, ask me and I’ll delete them. You can also download the lot at any time, photos included, from the bottom of your members page.

If you want a photo deleted now, remove that card from your deck in your journal, or email me at admin@tarotwithgord.com.

Discord

Membership includes access to the Tarot with DisGord community server.

Discord is a US-based company. Your Discord username, messages, and activity are processed by Discord under their own privacy policy. By joining the server, you accept Discord’s terms.

I moderate the server. Conduct rules are posted in the welcome channel. Repeated rule-breaking, slurs, harassment, or threats can result in being removed from the server, and from your membership, with no refund. I won’t remove anyone for who they are. Any decision is about what someone has actually done.

If you want a post you made deleted, email me within 7 days of cancellation and I’ll do what I can. Discord retains messages on their own servers regardless.

Digital Products

I sell standalone digital products (workbooks, guides, reference material) through my website.

These are non-refundable. Once you’ve downloaded a digital product, the sale is final.

By buying any digital product from me, you agree that you understand this and that you’re happy to start downloading immediately.

If you have a technical problem accessing a download you’ve paid for, email me and I’ll sort it. You can re-download your purchases at any time from your account on my website.

What you can do with what you buy:

  • Use it for yourself, your own practice, your own learning.
  • Print workbooks for your own use.
  • Share files with people in your immediate household for their own personal use.

What you can’t do:

  • Share, repost, sell, redistribute, or republish the content publicly.
  • Use the content to teach paid courses, sell readings, or run paid services of your own.
  • Share download links with anyone outside your household.

If a file you bought turns out to be faulty or if I sent you the wrong product, email me and I’ll fix it (replacement or refund, depending on what’s gone wrong).

Events and Parties

I take bookings for tarot reading at events. Birthday parties, corporate gatherings, hen dos, weddings, that sort of thing.

Minimum booking: 2 hours.

Travel: travel across Greater Manchester is included in the price I quote you. There’s no separate travel charge to add on afterwards.

Deposit: 50% of the booking fee is due when you book to hold the date. The remaining 50% is due 14 days before the event.

If you (the host) cancel:

  • 30 or more days before the event: full refund of anything you’ve paid me, minus the deposit.
  • 14 to 30 days before the event: 50% of what you’ve paid me is refunded.
  • Inside 14 days: no refund.

If I cancel (illness, emergency, anything on my end): full refund of everything you’ve paid me.

At the event itself: I read for whoever you’ve arranged for me to read for. If a guest is rude or inappropriate during their reading, I’ll end the reading and move to the next person. If it keeps happening, I’ll talk to you (the host) about it.

Recording at events: I don’t allow recording of readings at events without my explicit permission. The reading is between me and the person sitting opposite me. If a host wants photos or video of the event for their own use, that’s a separate conversation we’ll have at booking.

Photos and Video

There are three different situations.

Paid group events (Circle in-person events if I run any, paid workshops, ticketed gatherings): photos and video may be taken during the event. You’ll be told this at booking. If you don’t want to be in any photos or video, email me at least 7 days before the event so I can plan around it.

Free events: explicit photo release form, opt-in only. If you haven’t signed it, you won’t be in anything.

One-to-one readings: I’ll always ask explicit permission before taking any photo or making any recording. You can say no without it affecting your reading.

Online group sessions (Circle, courses and online workshops): the main discussion part of these is recorded on Zoom so members who miss a session can catch up. Recordings are kept as unlisted videos, which means they do not appear in search and are not public, and the link is shared with members, including members who join later. You will appear on the recording if your camera or microphone is on during that part. If you would rather not appear, keep your camera off and stay off the microphone, and you can still join in using the chat. The card pull at the start and the practice readings at the end of Circle are not recorded. If you appear on a Circle recording and want it taken down, email me with the date of that Circle and I will take it down. Course and workshop recordings are different, because they are part of what people have paid for or signed up to, so those stay up for everyone entitled to them. On those, the way to stay off the recording is to keep your camera and microphone off during the session.

When I Have to Cancel

I’m one person. Sometimes things happen. If I have to cancel a session, course, Circle, or event for any reason, you get a full refund or a reschedule, your choice.

If something significant goes wrong on my end (illness, technical failure, family emergency), I’ll contact you as soon as I can.

In the unlikely event that I become permanently unable to continue running Tarot with Gord (serious illness, death), active memberships will be cancelled and refunded for the unused portion. Active course bookings will be refunded for unused sessions. Digital products you’ve already downloaded remain yours under the same use rules above.

Conduct

I expect respect, both ways. I treat my clients well. I expect the same in return.

Things I won’t accept:

  • Slurs or insults aimed at me or anyone else.
  • Threats of any kind.
  • Harassment.
  • Refusing to engage with the format you’ve booked (insisting on a phone call when you booked a Zoom reading, demanding I predict specific future events, asking me to read for someone else, that sort of thing).
  • Hanging up or disconnecting mid-session without saying anything.
  • Abusive emails, DMs, or comments after a session.

If any of this happens during a session, I can end the session immediately, no refund. If any of this happens around a session, I can decline to take future bookings from you. Repeated rule-breaking in Discord or at events can result in removal from the membership or the event, no refund.

None of this is about who you are. It’s about what someone does. If you think I’ve got something wrong, you can email me within 7 days and tell me. I’ll review it and reply within 10 working days.

Reviews and Refunds Are Separate Things

If you leave me a review, that’s your honest feedback. It doesn’t affect any refund decision.

If you ask for a refund, that’s about whether the service did what it was meant to do. It doesn’t affect any review.

I won’t offer you a refund in exchange for changing, removing, or holding back a review. And I won’t refuse a refund because of one. If you do ask for a refund and link it to changing your review, the review part doesn’t enter into my decision. The two are separate.

If you’ve got an issue with a reading, raise it with me directly. Walking out of a session and complaining publicly without telling me there was a problem isn’t going to lead to a refund. Saying “this didn’t work for me, here’s specifically what went wrong, can we talk about it” might.

What Tarot Is and Isn’t

Tarot readings are for reflection and insight. They aren’t predictions of future events. They aren’t a substitute for professional advice in legal, medical, financial, or mental health matters.

I don’t predict the future. I don’t read for third parties (your ex, your boss, the person you’re dating). I don’t do mediumship. I don’t give health, legal, or financial advice. Nothing I say in a reading is a financial forecast or investment advice. If you take what I say in a reading and use it to make a financial decision, that’s on you, not on me.

If you’re dealing with something serious (mental health, medical, legal, financial), please go to someone qualified to help you with that thing. I can sit alongside that work, but I can’t replace it.

I do my best work. I’ve been doing this a long time. But tarot is a reflective tool, not a science, and any insight you take from a reading is your own to act on.

I can’t be held responsible for choices you make after a reading, or for outcomes that follow from those choices.

What Belongs to Whom

The card meanings on my website, the workbooks, the videos, the Tarot Journal content, the spread breakdowns, the Simply Tarot Unfiltered videos: all of that is mine. You’re welcome to read it, use it for your own practice, and share specific things on social media with attribution. You can’t republish it, sell it, or use it to teach paid courses of your own.

When you buy or access digital content from me, what you get is a personal-use licence (more detail in the Membership and Digital Products sections above). Not ownership.

Reporting copyright material on my site

Members of Simply Tarot Membership can photograph their own decks and keep those photographs in a private journal on my site. If you publish a tarot or oracle deck and you want photographs of it taken down, email me at admin@tarotwithgord.com with Copyright notice in the subject line.

Tell me:

  1. Who you are, who you act for, and how to reach you.
  2. Which deck it is, and what tells me you own the rights or act for whoever does.
  3. What you want taken down. A deck name is enough, since these are private uploads you won’t have a link to.
  4. That you believe in good faith the material isn’t authorised by you, by law, or by the rights owner.
  5. That what you’ve told me is accurate.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  • I’ll acknowledge your notice within 2 working days.
  • I’ll remove the material or cut off access to it within 5 working days of acknowledging, while I look into it.
  • I’ll tell the member whose material it is, and pass on what you’ve said, though I won’t give them your contact details unless you say I can.
  • If the member tells me they did have the right to upload it, I’ll let you know and put the two of you in touch rather than decide it myself. I’m not a court.
  • I’ll keep a record of every notice and what I did about it.

I don’t go looking through members’ journals, and I’ve no way of knowing which decks people have photographed until somebody tells me. So a notice is the thing that puts it in front of me, and I’d rather have one than not.

If you’re a member and something of yours has been taken down and you think that’s wrong, email me and tell me why. Repeatedly uploading material you haven’t got the right to upload will end your membership.

Privacy: How I Handle Your Information

This bit covers what data I collect, how I use it, and your rights over it.

What I collect

When you book something, I collect your name, email, and phone number (the last one is optional for some bookings).

When you book a reading, you can choose to give me a topic or question. You don’t have to.

When you make a booking, my booking system creates an account for you so you can manage your bookings.

If you sign up to a lead magnet, I capture your email through ManyChat or my website signup form, and add you to my mailing list (Brevo).

When you check out for a paid product or membership, the payment processor (Stripe or PayPal) handles your card details. I never see them or store them.

If you join Discord through the membership, your Discord username and posts sit on Discord’s servers. I’m a moderator there.

If you’re a member and you use the Tarot Journal, I store what you put into it. That’s your recorded readings, your notes, the decks you’ve added, and any photographs of your cards you’ve uploaded. The photos are held outside the public part of my site and are only served to you when you’re signed in.

Sensitive personal information

If the topic you give me when booking includes anything sensitive (health, sexuality, beliefs, relationships, anything personal), you’re agreeing that I can use that information for the purpose of your reading. It’s processed only for that, kept only as long as needed, and not shared.

How I use your information

For booking-related things: confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, scheduling, payment receipts. These aren’t optional. If you’ve booked something, you’ll get them.

For marketing emails: only if you’ve signed up to my mailing list separately. Booking a service does not automatically add you to my marketing list. There’s a tickbox for that, and ticking it is up to you.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing admin@tarotwithgord.com.

I use Brevo to send emails. Brevo tracks whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, which helps me see what’s working. If you don’t want this, most email clients let you block tracking pixels.

Reading notes

After a session I sometimes make quick written notes from memory, for my own reference. Sometimes I use a transcription tool called Wispr Flow to dictate them more quickly.

I store them with your first name only and nothing else attached. I delete them after a year.

Third parties I share data with

I only use third-party services that need access to do their job:

  • Stripe and PayPal: payment processing.
  • Brevo: email and newsletter sending.
  • Zoom: hosting online sessions.
  • Discord: hosting the membership community.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): I run paid Instagram ads. Meta’s tracking pixel sits on my website to measure ad performance.
  • ManyChat: handling Instagram messaging and lead magnet delivery.
  • Google Analytics: website traffic analysis (routed through Cloudflare).
  • Google Drive: occasionally used to share large files with you (recordings, big workbooks, etc).
  • Wispr Flow: voice-to-text transcription for note-taking after sessions and writing some communications.

Booking, membership, and digital product data is stored within the plugins on my own WordPress site (Amelia for bookings, Paid Memberships Pro for membership, Easy Digital Downloads for digital products). These plugins handle the data inside my own site database, they aren’t external services with access to your information.

Your journal, including your card photographs, is stored on my own site. It doesn’t go to any third party.

How long I keep your information

  • Booking and transaction records: 5 years from the end of the tax year of your last booking. This is a legal requirement for me as a sole trader.
  • Reading notes: up to 1 year, then deleted.
  • Your journal, including your card photos: kept for as long as you’ve got an account with me, whether your membership is active or not, because people pause and come back. Ask me to delete it and I will.
  • Marketing list: if you unsubscribe, your email stays in my system marked as unsubscribed so I don’t send you anything again. You stop receiving marketing emails.
  • Discord: while you’re in the server, your Discord username and posts are visible to me as a moderator. Once you leave the server, I don’t hold any record of you on the Discord side. Your messages remain on Discord’s servers under Discord’s own retention policy.

If you ask me to delete your personal information, I’ll delete what I’m able to. I have to keep basic transaction records for tax purposes (date, service, amount), but I can remove your name, email, phone, and any session notes. Email admin@tarotwithgord.com.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • See what data I hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data deleted (subject to the tax retention rule above).
  • Object to marketing emails (just unsubscribe).
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Take your data elsewhere (data portability).

To exercise any of these, email admin@tarotwithgord.com. I’ll respond within one month.

If you think I’ve handled your data badly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Use of AI tools

I sometimes use AI tools (like Claude) to help draft blog posts and other content. When I do this for client-related work, I either anonymise the content fully (no names, no identifying details) or use only short partial extracts.

I never include client names, email addresses, or payment information in anything I send to AI tools. I use temporary conversation modes where possible. I’ve opted out of AI training data use everywhere I’m aware it’s an option.

If you’d rather your reading content not be touched by AI tools at all, tell me at booking or at the start of your session.

Testimonials, reviews, and references in my work

I might reference insights from readings I’ve done in blog posts, social media, courses, or other content. When I do this, I remove or change any identifying details. The point is to illustrate something about tarot, not to talk about you.

If you don’t want your reading referenced in this way, tell me at booking or email admin@tarotwithgord.com any time.

If I ask you for a testimonial after a reading, that’s voluntary. You decide whether to give one, and what name (if any) to use. Testimonials I publish on my own site or in my own marketing can be removed if you change your mind later, just email me.

Reviews you leave on third-party platforms (Google, Yell, etc) are managed by those platforms, not by me. I can’t remove them, edit them, or stop them being shown. If you want to change a review you’ve left somewhere, you’ll need to do it through the platform itself.

Children’s information

My services are 18+ only. I don’t knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18. If I find out I have, I’ll delete it.

Cookies

My website uses cookies. The cookie banner on the site lets you control which cookies you accept. The full cookie policy is on a separate page on the site here.

Changes to These Terms

I update these terms when needed. Updates are posted to the page without separate notification. The current version is always at tarotwithgord.com/terms-conditions/.
