My Approach to Tarot Reading

I read tarot without the fluff. We use the cards to see what is actually happening, name the pattern, and choose next steps you can act on. No fortune telling. No theatrics. Just a practical, honest conversation that leaves you clearer than you arrived.

What I Actually Do

I treat tarot as a reflective practice and a collaboration. You bring your life. I bring the deck, questions, and structure. Together we make meaning and turn it into action. I care about consent, clarity, and usefulness more than performing mysticism.

Who This Is For

  • You want guidance, not someone declaring your fate
  • You are sceptical but open to a grounded process
  • You are navigating change, creative blocks, work stress, or relationship mess
  • You value an inclusive, non‑judgemental space where your identity is respected

What I Will Not Do

  • Predict a fixed future or give death dates
  • Diagnose health or replace medical, legal, or financial advice
  • Spy on third parties without consent
  • Scare, shame, or tell you what to do

How A Session Works

  1. Set a focus. We frame a clear, open‑ended question or a theme. If you do not have one, we shape it together.
  2. Draw the cards. Sometimes we use a spread with clear positions. Sometimes we read freely. It depends on your topic.
  3. Read the images. We look at symbols, suits, numbers, and the story between cards. I guide. You respond. We keep it real.
  4. Connect to real life. We test what lands, name friction and blind spots, and map choices you can actually make.
  5. Close with next steps. You leave with one to three actions that match your capacity, plus a prompt to revisit later.

If you like structure, I have signature spreads that suit different moments, like Mirror Moment for self‑check‑ins, Inspiration Unfucker when your creativity is jammed, and Liminal Lobotomy for big transitions with many moving parts. We will pick what serves you, not force a layout that does not fit.

Ethics And Boundaries

  • Consent first. I check before we look at sensitive topics and you can pause or stop any time
  • Confidentiality. Your reading stays private
  • Age 18+
  • Trauma‑aware, LGBTQ‑inclusive language as standard

You can read my full ethics policy here: Ethical Tarot Readings.

Sceptics Welcome

You do not need to believe in anything for this to work. Treat the cards like a mirror and the reading like a structured conversation. If something does not land, we say so and look again. The point is clarity, not forcing a meaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you use reversals?

Sometimes. If reversals add useful nuance for your topic, I include them. If they create noise, I leave them upright. I check your preference at the start and keep the approach consistent for that session.

Will you tell me bad news?

I will tell you the truth with care. If a hard pattern shows up, we name it, pace it, and focus on options. You will not be left spooked or helpless; the point is to leave with language for what is happening and at least one next step.

Can you read about other people?

With boundaries. I do not pry into someone else’s private life. We centre your choices and your side of the dynamic. For example, instead of “What are they thinking about me,” we might ask, “What do I need to know about this dynamic and my best move,” and instead of “Will they come back,” try, “What is my most compassionate path forward, and what will help me heal.”

Do I need to be spiritual or believe in tarot?

No. Curiosity and honesty are enough. Treat the cards like a mirror and the session like a structured conversation that helps you think and feel your way through a situation.

How long are sessions and how do I choose?

Anything under 30 minutes is a taster. 30 minutes is my standard session for one clear topic. We usually work with 6 to 9 cards and go deep enough to peel back layers and land a solid next step. 45 minutes is the sweet spot for most people; we can unpack nuance, sit with the conversation, and look at 9 to 12 cards with a couple of oracle pulls. 60 minutes is for full exploration, either a big life change or several angles of a situation.

What spreads do you use?

I choose tarot spreads that fit the moment. Sometimes we use a spread with positions like Present, Challenge, and Advice; sometimes we read freely without a fixed layout. Positions help organise the story; when something needs more detail, I pull clarifying cards.

Will you predict the future?

I don't claim to predict the future. It isn't helpful. If I told you that in six weeks someone in a brown suit would hand you a million pounds, you'd spend those weeks scanning for brown suits and maybe make risky choices to force it. The future isn't fixed. It is in flux. Tarot helps you see what sits under the surface so you can make better decisions and shape what comes next. It doesn't predict the future. It helps you make it.

What if a topic feels sensitive or triggering?

We slow down. I check consent before going further, and you can pause or stop at any point. If a topic is not suited to tarot, I will say so and suggest safer ways to approach it. Care comes first.

What should I do before and after?

Before a session, bring a clear, open-ended question if you can and give yourself a few minutes to settle. Afterward, take a moment before big decisions, review your notes in a day or two, and notice what still resonates. If you like more structure, see my guides on how to prepare and what to do after a reading.

How confidential is the reading?

Sessions are private and handled with care. I do not share details outside the session. If you need written notes for yourself, I can provide a brief summary at your request.
