This is where it all begins. Level 1 of Simply Tarot is designed to get you reading for yourself with confidence, curiosity and zero fluff. Whether you’re spiritual, sceptical or somewhere in between, you’ll learn to use tarot as a practical tool for self-reflection and emotional clarity.
We focus on the Major Arcana as the backbone of the tarot journey, using story, symbolism and real-life insight to help you make sense of the cards without relying on rote memorisation. Expect live practice, group discussion, and a bit of honest soul-searching.
If you’ve ever wanted to read tarot without getting lost in mysticism or jargon, this course is your entry point. No experience needed. Just bring a deck and an open mind.
Simply Tarot: Level 2
Tarot for Others

Available in Manchester. Online self-paced version coming late 2026.
Ready to go deeper? Level 2 of Simply Tarot builds on what you learned in Level 1 and helps you take your reading skills out into the world. We explore the Minor Arcana in detail, looking at how the suits, numbers and court cards come together to tell fuller, more nuanced stories.
You’ll also learn how to hold space for someone else, ask better questions, and structure a reading that feels collaborative rather than performative. There’s plenty of live practice and feedback to help you grow in confidence, whether you’re reading for mates or thinking about offering readings professionally.
This level is all about depth, nuance and reading with integrity. You’ll leave with a stronger grasp of the full deck and a better sense of your own unique reading style.

Your Tarot Deck
You need a deck. Any 78-card tarot deck works. These are the three I’d point you towards:
- The Weiser Tarot: This is the Rider-Waite-Smith. The original. Every tarot book, course, and resource you’ll ever find references it. The Weiser edition is a clean modern reprint. Start here if you want one deck that everything else maps to.
- Light Seers Tarot: Modern, diverse imagery that a lot of people find easier to connect with than the traditional RWS. Still follows the same structure so nothing gets lost in translation.
- Fifth Spirit Tarot: Goes beyond the gender binary. The deck I use in most of my own readings.
Pick whichever one you’re drawn to. You can always get more later. You will get more later.
Simply Tarot Fundamentals
Simply Tarot Fundamentals is the reference guide that comes with the course. 558 pages covering all 78 cards. It’s yours to keep and comes included free with your place.
- All 78 cards in one place: Major Arcana, Minor Arcana, and court cards with meanings and context you can actually use in a reading rather than just look up and forget.
- Free with your course place: No separate purchase. It’s part of what you get when you join. Use it during sessions. It’ll still be useful long after the course ends.
- A foundation, not a rulebook: The goal is to use it as a starting point and build your own interpretations from there. That’s the whole point of the course.
Simply Tarot Membership
Simply Tarot Membership is where your practice keeps going after the course. Weekly sessions on Zoom, the full resource library, and other readers to practice with. Course participants get three months free.
- Weekly Simply Tarot Circle sessions: Every Sunday, 7-9pm UK time. Practice readings, ask questions, work through what isn’t clicking. The live sessions are where things actually develop.
- The full resource library included: Fundamentals, workbooks, spread workbooks, and Gord’s personal card journal. All of it, no extra cost.
- Three months free with your course place: After that it’s £15 a month. No contract, cancel whenever you want.

I’m a tarot reader and educator based in Salford. I’ve been reading tarot for over a decade and teaching it since 2022. I don’t do predictions, I don’t do mystical nonsense, and I don’t tell people what they want to hear. I use tarot as a practical tool for understanding what’s going on and working out what to do about it. That’s what I teach.

What materials will I need?
You’ll need a tarot deck for each session. If you don’t have one yet, any standard tarot deck will work, and I can offer recommendations if needed.
What if I miss a session?
In-Person Course:
Each level runs over two full days, and you must attend both days.
There are no replay or make-up options, so please ensure you can attend before booking.
Online Course:
The online version will be self-paced, so you can work through lessons in your own time.
There are no attendance requirements, but you’ll get the best results by completing modules in order.
What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds once you have attended the in-person course or accessed the online course materials.
Please double-check availability, schedule, and readiness before enrolling.
Do I need prior experience with tarot to join this course?
No.
Level 1 is suitable for complete beginners and returning learners.
Level 2 continues from Level 1, so ideally you must complete Level 1 first.
Will I need to read tarot cards for myself and others during this course?
Level 1: You will practise reading for yourself.
Level 2: You will practise reading for others and complete a short assessment.
After completing both levels, you may request a Certificate of Completion if you’d like one.
