I’ll come to you and read for your guests, somewhere quiet, while the rest of the night carries on without them.
It isn’t fortune telling
I don’t predict anything, and I say so before I start. Your guest sits down with me for a few minutes and gets a proper conversation about whatever they’ve brought with them. They come away talking, and that’s the bit you’re booking.
If somebody in the room thinks it’s nonsense, that’s fine. There’s no dogma here and nobody has to believe anything.
Nobody gets read who hasn’t asked. Nothing about anyone’s health, whether they’re pregnant, or anything legal. Everyone has to be over 18.
How long each person gets
Ten minutes, twenty, or thirty. Ten is quick and to the point. Thirty is a proper sit down. We can mix them if some of your guests want longer than others.
Or book an open table and I’ll read for whoever comes over. That suits a bar or a pub, where people wander up when they fancy it.
Two hours is the shortest booking I take.
What I get booked for
Hen parties
A hen do that isn’t just prosecco and a willy straw. I’ll read for the group one at a time, somewhere quiet, while everyone else carries on.
Birthdays
Mark the year with something different. A chance to look back at where you’ve been and have a think about what’s next.
Weddings
Something for your guests to do between the speeches and the dancefloor, and they’ll still be talking about it on the way home.
Office parties and work socials
Team away day, work social, or the Christmas do. I set up somewhere quiet and give your colleagues something better than the usual small talk.
Bars, pubs and venue openings
An open table draws a crowd and keeps them in the room. Good for a launch, a Halloween night, or a Christmas evening.
Seasonal dos
Halloween and Christmas book up first, because there are only so many nights in them.
What I need from you
- A table and two chairs, ideally a spare room or a quiet corner so people can talk without the whole party listening.
- Some idea of how many readings you want, if it’s a party. For an open table you don’t need to plan anything, people just come over.
- Tissues are worth having about. Sometimes it gets emotional.
I bring my cards, the cloth, the decorative bits, the diffuser and the speaker. A tip jar too, if you want one. I take about five minutes an hour as a break, and we can set when those fall beforehand.
Booking and getting me there
- A 50% deposit holds your date and comes off the final price. The balance is due 14 days before.
- If you cancel a long way out you’ll most likely get the deposit back. The closer to the date, the less likely that is.
- I don’t drive, so getting to you is part of what I quote. If you’re much further out than about half an hour from me, that might cost a bit more.
- If I’m on site but not reading, say during the meal and the speeches at a wedding, that time is booked as standby.
- I carry £5,000,000 public liability insurance, valid across the UK.

Where will you travel to?
Anywhere in Greater Manchester, and further out if you ask. I don’t drive, so getting to you is part of what I quote. Much further than about half an hour from me and it might cost a bit more.
